The 404 code means the printer cannot be found which can happen for specific thermal printers that need the ePOS setting enabled. You will need a laptop or computer to access the printers setting.

Common Epson printer models that need the ePOS enabled include TM-T82III, TM-T20II, TM-T82, TM-T88V and other TM-T models

  1. On your laptop, connect to the same WiFi internet network as the Printer

  2. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox), type in the printers IP Address i.e 192.168.1.250 click enter to load the page. An Epson sign in page will be displayed with a login and a password field. Use these credentials for your printer login:

    1. Use https:// then the IP address i.e. https://192.168.1.250

  3. Most browsers will return this warning "Your connection is private". This is normal for accessing local intranet sites. Click Advanced, then click Proceed to [IP address]

    1. Username: epson

    2. Password: the serial number of the printer (or try just the word 'epson' if that does not work)

  4. Once logged in, on the left menu , locate the 'ePOS print' settings.

4. In the ePOS settings, select the drop down and change the status to 'Enable'.

5. Once changed, you need to power the printer OFF, then turn it back on again and let it load up.

6. Once the printer has powered up and indicated a good connection with the blue or green status light indicators, close the Host Merchant app and re-open it.

7. Try to print an order again or use the 'Test print' button. If that fails, delete the printer and add it again to eliminate any bad configuration data from the previous setup.

Trouble shooting - This site can't be reached

Because printer settings are run through a local intranet, some browsers restrict the access or provide warnings that you are at risk if you continue. If there is an open to continue to access the site, please click this to access the Epson printing settings website.

If the browser does not load due to privacy restrictions or displays a "Proxy" related message, you will need to update the computers local intranet proxy settings.

  • If you are using a proxy server with your product, configure the browser's proxy settings as follows:

    • Windows 10: Click the windows icon > Settings > Network and Internet > Proxy. Scroll down and set Use a proxy server to On. Select Don't use proxy server for local (Intranet) addresses.

    • Windows 8.x: Navigate to the Apps screen and select PC Settings > Network > Proxy. Scroll down and set Use a proxy server to On. Select Don't use proxy server for local (Intranet) addresses.

    • Apple Mac: Select System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies. Register the local address under Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains. For example, 192.168.1.*: Local address 192.168.1.XXX, subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
