What is the sign in feature?

The 'Sign in' feature is now available on all 13" Host kiosks and allows regular customers to sign in giving them a personalised experience each time. Once the customer has signed in, their previous order history will be shown as well as loyalty status leading to a better and faster checkout experience.

Setting up the Dashboard

On the Dashboard, you will need to follow these steps to enable the Sign in feature:

  1. On the left menu select Kiosk

  2. Select the Edit button, then click Details at the top of the screen.

  3. On the right hand side, enable the Registered Users sign in, click Save.

Now refresh the kiosk session by clicking the Cancel & start again button at the Checkout. Your 'Sign in' button will now be displayed on the kiosk landing page.

Enabling the Front camera

If your front camera does not turn on when the Sign in mechanism is selected, you will need to make the follow device setting changes and check the Google browser privacy settings for the camera:

On the Windows surface bottom menu, click the search icon and type "device manager", then click the available option.

On the device manager, look for the option of "system devices"

Under system devices look after the option rear camera.

Double click rear camera and the device details will be provided. In that section the option to enable/disable a device will be available.

Click "disable device". After doing that and clicking ok, the system will prompt to restart the device for this actions to take place. Accept and let the system restart the device.

Once the device is back on, try the kiosk access from browser to verify that the front camera is working automatically this time.

Checking Privacy settings on Google Chrome

First, go to the browser of preference(currently for all our hardware is Google Chrome). Open the kiosk production site (https://kiosk.hosthq.io).

Once on the kiosk landing page press the Sign In button.

Normally the browser should request access to the camera, allow the access request. This will keep the browser and Host kiosk site entitled to access both rear and front camera.

If the front camera is not picked automatically, try the reverse camera button on the bottom of the QR code sign in page.

If the front camera is still not switching on, please contact us for additional technical support.
